Kwakiulth Style First Nation Eagle, Bear and Wild Woman 15″ Model Totem Pole features amazing carving detail!

Small piece with lots of impact. Masterful carving quality. The eagle at the top is presenting a Dzunukwa (wild Woman) in front. The fierce Kwakiulth bear is holding a shield with a frog design in its claws. The wild woman at the lower tier is also holding a frog motif shield in her hands. The wild woman additionally has a detailed eagle motif carved on her side.

Small stature piece at 15 x 1.5 with a 3 inch base. Powerful traditional red and black colors with rich red cedar wood revealed. The excellent carving and precise paint application is really something to behold.

The artist is a member of the Kwakwaka’wakw First Nation, based in Alert Bay on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Born into a very important carving family in 1974, the artist wasted no time taking on the mantel of greatness from his uncles, mother, and extended family members all excelling in their artwork.

Today his pieces are collected worldwide. His style is a distinctive fusion of traditional and contemporary and is easily recognizable for fine detail and extremely high design quality. It’s our honor to present this piece at Forest Gems.
