The spalt maple figuring is accented with black epoxy that fills in gaps. The silky overall finish is satin lacquer.

The 28″ high metal table bases shown are heavy strong steel, finished with a premium satin black paint for a smooth finish. The two custom table bases shown are $600 for the pair. In the event that this piece is purchased for use as a bar top, or a high-traffic casual dining peninsula, for example, the finish could be upgraded to a clear epoxy topcoat if the buyer wishes to have a nearly indestructible finish.
